Implementation of BCI cotton in Daletec portfolio in progress
The Better Cotton Initiative exists to make global cotton production better for the people who produce it, better for the environment it grows in and better for the textile sector’s future. BCI aims to transform cotton production worldwide by developing Better Cotton as a sustainable mainstream commodity.
Last year Daletec set a target of transferring all of its cotton purchase to BCI cotton by end of 2018. By end of first quarter 2018 the shift is happening well in line with the plans. At this point, both pure cotton fabrics and cotton/polyester blends are now made using BCI cotton, and more products will follow later this year when new production lots are reaching raw material stocks.
The move to BCI cotton is a step in Daletec’s strategy of not only processing high quality flame retardant products, but at the same time processing responsibly with as gentle footprint in our environment as possible.
